A Boost

I'm working on dinner yesterday when Mae comes in the kitchen:

"Mooooooooooommmmmmm, I need the stool because I'm SHORT!"

And away she goes into the dining room to get a boost. I think they were playing school/restaurant ... or something.

First picture I tried to sneak. Etta could see of course, and was trying to be silly.
And then Mae noticed and tried to look/smile.
And this is the look I get when I ask for a smile. Seriously. The same look every time. Take note of her socks. She wanted to wear her new Mickey socks from Aunt Molly. But she could only find one and didn't feel like looking for the other. Mae is okay with mismatched socks. Verses Etta who, when I tried to just mix and match the colors of the same socks had an epic meltdown and demanded that we immediately unfold, match and refold all of the socks in her drawer. Different kids.
Three little heads pre-bedtime. Watching Etta play My Muppets Show on the Kindle. Russell was movin' and groovin' to the background music. They are all really starting to get along - most of the time.

Big Gulp

I've been working with Russell on drinking from an open cup. These little cheese jars are just the right size for his little hands. He prefers glasses to sippy cups, but needs closer supervision with these.

Evening Outing

After dinner last night we headed out to enjoy the evening. Mae was dressed all in orange, easy to see and rarin' to go. Until we got a few blocks and her chain completely came off. Bob couldn't get to it because of the guard so they turned around and headed home. He had Russell on his back, had to drag Mae's bike, and a crying Mae, home. Lucky him. Etta and I continued on to LC's campus and enjoyed the evening air.

Cheese! Big kid riding proud.
Getting a photo of Etta while waiting for the word on the bike repair. No go.
Etta: "Mommy, come over here. It's beeeeeeautiful!!"
And it was.
Spring time in Lewiston. I thought these daffodils were quite unique.

Tuckered Out

It was a good spring break. Even though we had a couple of small showers yesterday Bob was able to be out in the yard quite a bit with Etta. The girls really wanted to watch a video and wanted him to watch too. I think they probably just want him to hang out with them. Win-win for everyone!

Busy Saturday

Yesterday morning I had a meeting in Moscow. So Bob took the kids and met Steve & Cathy at Home Depot for their first-Saturday-free-craft-thing. Before they left the house Etta called Bob to be her helper and Mae called Grandpa. By process of elimination I guess that leaves Russell with Grandma.

Etta was excited that she got to use a REAL hammer. She's been asking.
Always agreeable.
Mae got a little paint on Grandpa's pants. But since she says he never goes anywhere, I guess it's no biggy.
Etta was very meticulous.
Great place to practice Russell's walking.
Later in the afternoon we noticed that they were filling the fire truck.
Just too enticing.
The fireman was very nice and invited Etta up for a "drive". She got to blow the air horn.
Big kid. She has changed a bit since her third birthday. Was that two years ago?!
A very tiring day. She likes her blanket too.

New Hat and New Shades

New hat from Urban Baby Bonnets. I love their hats. They snap under the chin and stay put!
After dinner we went for a little walk. Russell loves the backpack.
Mae modeling her new shades. She bought them with her OWN money at Shopko. They were even on sale. Smart shopper. They are red McQueen sunglasses. New favs.
And you can wear them this way too.
Sunset clouds as we were getting home.

Fuzzy Cuddle

When we were in Montana Grandma Cynthia gave each of the kids a fuzzy, hoodie blanket with little pockets where they can put their hands to cuddle. Kind of like a Snuggie. Only different. Etta's is a frog. Apparently it was a bit brisk in her bedroom last night, or maybe she just wanted to be cozy.
